IDS 402 // Promoting Southern Art and Community Development
In this research paper, I will investigate the definition of Southern art through observation, scholarly essays, examples of Southern art and artists and survey. I would like to promote Southern art and education to the South of the United Sates as a means to economic development and rejuvenation. My methodology consists of participant-observation, surveys, and interviews. I will attend exhibitions featuring Southern artists, as well as research the internet and publications. By focusing on Southern artists and materials, I will find a valid importance of how Southern art reflects its culture and history. By engaging in community involvement, I would like to breed a new generation of Southern collectors that have developed an eye for aesthetic criticism and Southern pride in the future.
